With the Light Shining
It's a challenge photographing lighthouses working as they should - their
magnificent crystal lens sending beams of light seaward. Unfortunately,
this is getting more and more difficult as cost-cutting measures are
reducing the power of the lights.
Each year in August, two lights in NSW are re-lit to celebrate International
Lighthouse Weekend. Point Perpendicular (Nowra) and Wollongong Breakwater shine
for 2 nights, giving us an opportunity to go back in time and see these
lighthouses working once more. Both of these lighthouses are included in
20 new images just posted to the Seaside Lights website. There will also be more
of these lighthouses to come.
Featured also, are Cape Schanck, at the bottom of the Mornington Peninsula in
Victoria, and Mersey Bluff at Devonport Tasmania.

Requests
I have lots of Lighthouse photographs that aren't on the website. If you have a
special request, email me and I
may be able to help. It would be good if you could indicate the subject and size
of print you were after.
